Luchtbrug

Year: 2016 | Location: Eindhoven, Stationsplein / Strijp-s | Status: concept
Designers: Tim Kouthoofd, Piotr Szczesniak

Barcelona, London, New York and Rio de Janeiro have one: an urban cable car. What if Eindhoven had one too?

Luchtbrug Eindhoven is a speculative mobility concept by Bygg Architecture & Design. The proposal imagines an aerial connection between the city centre and Strijp-S, turning everyday movement into a new public experience.

More than a transport system, the Luchtbrug is conceived as an urban attraction with international appeal. During major events such as Dutch Design Week, King’s Day, GLOW and the Marathon, it would allow visitors to experience Eindhoven as an open festival terrain from above.

On ordinary days, it could offer shoppers, residents and visitors a new way to move between the centre and Strijp-S, connecting retail, culture, food and public life in one continuous route.
Can you see yourself gliding over Eindhoven?
