Decentralized Futures brings together the work of eight international artists developed during the ARTeCHÓ Fellowship Program, which explores the intersection of art, economy, and technology.

The artists address pressing contemporary issues—environmental, political, social, and economic—while investigating new models of organization and resource management enabled by distributed and decentralized technologies. In doing so, they engage with concepts such as decentralization and redistribution, digital scarcity, and horizontality.

For the scenography in the completely dark, iconic industrial setting of the Koelhuis in Eindhoven, we drew inspiration from the architecture of a server room: a human-less environment designed with clarity and rationality (much like the Koelhuis in its original function). We developed modular frames that present the artists' works on one side while allowing easy technical access on the other, all illuminated in blue light. The frames are arranged in an open grid, creating a more harmonious path through the spaces. Information for each artwork is displayed on a digital screen mounted on a battery-powered stand, allowing the displays to remain independent and easily movable within the exhibition.
